I'll overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to build hype for next month's boxing match.

Former two time world title holder Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

In spite of these statements, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually famous for his showmanship - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead attacked ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, targeted British opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, frequently receiving substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul participated in the customary face-off, with their size difference evident, it emphasized just how surprising this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually happening.
